Best Sparkling Waters of the World

15.6.2026

In the world of high-end gastronomy, water is no longer viewed as just a means of hydration. It is an essential component of the dining experience, possessing its own unique terroir, structural weight, and carbonation architecture. To identify the absolute elite of this growing industry, Tastingbook.com recently conducted a comprehensive, rigorous blind tasting of 14 of the world’s most prominent premium and design sparkling waters.

The competitive lineup featured global giants, classic mainstays, and specialty elixirs alike. The grid included Antipodes, Ty Nant, Perlage, San Benedetto, Solán de Cabras, Saratoga, ROI, Kuohu, and the intensely volcanic Borjomi. Crucially, the lineup also put traditional fine-dining staples like Italy’s iconic S.Pellegrino and France’s newly introduced Evian Sparkling to the test, alongside the globally recognized design titan, Voss.

To achieve the most accurate and multifaceted evaluation possible, the 14 waters were tasted twice: first completely solo without food, and then a second time alongside a variety of gourmet dishes and fine wines. This two-stage methodology was designed to uncover each water’s optimal culinary purpose. It was during the food and wine pairings where the competition truly split; Vellamo’s extraordinary ability to effortlessly cleanse and reset the palate between different flavors created a massive, undeniable gap between itself and all competitors, including the established global titans.
